James Baxter Masterclass Now On Sale!

James Baxter is behind some of the greatest animated characters of the new golden age of animation: Belle in Beauty & the Beast, Rafiki in The Lion King, Quasimodo, Moses, Tulio, Spirit... all screen classics which played a major role in the renaissance of animation.

Not limiting himself to a pencil, Mr. Baxter has also served as Supervising Animator/Head of Character Animation on such CG films as Shrek 2, The Croods and How to Train Your Dragon 2. With experience in feature and short films, television and streaming, Mr. Baxter has done it all over the course of his career.

On Saturday, September 22, 2018, we invite you to join us for a day-long masterclass in which Mr. Baxter will, with the help of the audience, share his experience and touch on the finer points of communicating personality through an animated character’s movements.

Tickets to the masterclass are now on sale on our website.

When: Saturday, September 22 @ 9:30 am (doors open at 9:00 am)

Small Heroes, Big Effects
Behind the VFX of Ant-Man & the Wasp

Being able to change your size on the fly may not be the first superpower that comes to mind when you think about a superhero but as Ant-Man & the Wasp recently proved, it’s a mighty great power to have.

From a technical standpoint, it’s not as easy as simply shrinking and growing the heroes; there are buildings, vehicles and environments to deal with as well.

On Thursday, August 23, join us and Alessandro Ongaro, VFX Supervisor at DNEG, as he takes us behind the scenes on the making of Ant-Man & the Wasp and how he and his team achieved some of the film’s eye popping visuals.

Tickets are now on sale for $12 each or $10.80 each for groups of 5 or more. Note that group pricing is only available via online purchase.

When: Thursday, August 23 @ 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm)
Admission: $12 // Groups (5+): $10.80*
* Group pricing only available through on-line advance sales
Admission includes GST.
