VFX Master Robert Legato to Open SPARK FX 2019
Titanic, Hugo, and The Jungle Book all share the distinction of having won the Oscar for Best Achievement in Visual Effects and they all have something else in common: Robert Legato.
After a career in television, Mr. Legato joined Digital Domain shortly after the visual effects company was founded by James Cameron, Stan Winston and Scott Ross, and his first assignment was none other than a little movie called Titanic, which went on to win 11 Oscar Awards, including one for Mr. Legato and his team.
Over the years, Mr. Legato has been honoured with VES, Emmy, and BAFTA Awards, and has worked on everything from Interview with a Vampire to The Jungle Book and Disney’s upcoming The Lion King.
SPARK in partnership with VIFF, is pleased to announce that Mr. Legato will be the keynote speaker at SPARK FX 2019, which will be taking place at Emily Carr’s Reliance Theatre on February 9 & 10. This must-attend event includes two days of stimulating conference presentations, a career fair and a Diversity Summit.
