Second John Musker Masterclass Added
Due to popular demand, we have added a second masterclass date!
In addition to the previously announced class taking place on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Emily Carr University, Reliance Theatre, a second class will be taking place on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Capilano University, Bosa Theatre (2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver).
A 40-year-veteran of Walt Disney Animation Studios, John Musker has done it all. Writer, producer, character animator and director, he is credited with two of the most notable Disney films of the 1990s: The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. In 2016, he wrote and directed Moana which went on to be nominated for two Academy Awards.
Tickets are $125 or $112.50 for groups of 5 or more (note that group pricing is only available through on-line advance sales). Tickets to both dates are still available.

SPARK FX Line-up Keeps Growing
Have you seen the line-up for this year’s SPARK FX? It’s like a who’s who of VFX powerhouses and the premiere event to be at for a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most exciting visual spectacles of the past year.
As previously announced, Academy Award-winning VFX supervisor Robert Legato (The Lion King, The Jungle Book, Hugo, Titanic) will open the conference and he’ll be followed by presentations on Robert Zemeckis’ latest film Welcome to Marwen, Aquaman, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and Venom as well as presentation on the in-camera effects of First Man and the invisible effects in Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma.
Newly added presentations include Christian Kaestner and Frederikke Glick on the magic behind Mary Poppins Returns while VFX supervisor Kevin Smith will guide us through the world building of the Peter Jackson produced Mortal Engines.
In addition to a looking back at the groundbreaking effects of Stargate, we’re pleased to have CG Supervisors George Murphy and Stephen Rosenbaum on hand to turn back the clocks and transport us 25 years into the past and the making of the ground-breaking Forrest Gump.
Conference passes which provide you full access to all presentations are now available for $225 or $202.50 for groups of 5 or more (note that group pricing is only available through on-line advance sales).
Single session conference tickets will also be available for $30 each. These are not available for online purchase and will be on sale at the venue on the day of the presentation (cash and credit).
