How’d They Do That? Making The LEGO Movie 2

You’ve seen the movie, and if haven’t what are you waiting for? It’s still playing at a theatre near you.

If you’ve seen the awesomeness, then you’re ready to see how it was made. On Saturday, join Animal Logic’s key creatives including art director Kristen Anderson, animation supervisor David Burgess and lighting supervisor Josh Nunn as they take us behind the making of The LEGO Movie 2. The session will be moderated by associate producer Tim J. Smith.

The presentation will kick off at 1:30PM at Vancouver Film School (420 Homer Street). Tickets are $10 and $9 for groups of 5 or more (note that group pricing is only available through online advance sales).

There will be a meet-and-greet following the presentation at the licensed VFS Cafe.

John Musker Coming Next Month!

Spring is a time to reinvigorate and recharge, and what better way to do that than with a masterclass to get your creative juices flowing?

John Musker, a 40-year-veteran of Walt Disney Animation Studios, will be leading two masterclasses, one on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Capilano University, Bosa Theatre (2055 Purcell Way, North Vancouver) and a second on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Emily Carr University, Reliance Theatre.

A writer, producer, character animator and director, Mr. Musker is credited with two of the most notable Disney films of the 1990s: The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. In 2016, he wrote and directed Moana which went on to be nominated for two Academy Awards. Nowadays, Mr. Musker is working on a short film with, as he recently revealed in an interview with Madeleine Fernando of The Daily Northwestern, ideas for 10 or 12 others.

Tickets are $125 or $112.50 for groups of 5 or more (note that group pricing is only available through online advance sales). Tickets to both dates are available.
